Trips to a Country House or Vacation Home

Pine-scented air flowing through the car windows. Green rolling hills dotted with amber wildflowers and lavender sprigs. The reflection of an orange-purple sunset on a glassy waterfront. The destination is nothing but peaceful. Prepping for the journey? Anything but.

Overstimulated doesn’t even begin to cover it. My sweaty, annoying little brother pinches my neck for the umpteenth time as I load three different sets of Legos into the trunk. I smell dog breath coming from the front seat, where I am supposed to be sitting. I can see it now: seven loops of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” in between each restroom break.

The trunk looks like the Matrix, losing my hand in between lumpy piles of wrinkled clothes. Packing’s been an absolute nightmare—with no rhyme or reason to awkwardly placed toiletries and random goggles that no one will use. Losing sleep and also my laptop, I desperately need some organization for this chaos. I accept that my fate was sealed in the car ride, but if I had a Samani Bag at least the trunk wouldn’t be such a labyrinth, and my clothing would be safe from Cheeto dust and dog hair. Definitely buying this bag for the next time I decide to suspend all reason and go on a family vacation to my lakehouse.
