Welcome! We’re Patience and Frank Lee, founders of the Samani Company. We started Samani with a mission–to transform packaging and transportation. We once witnessed two men struggling to move an uncovered queen-sized mattress through an apartment doorway in the freezing rain. The thought of a better way to get the job done stirred us to action. We asked the question, could there be a fabric-based product that could protect the mattress, while securing it comfortably, giving the movers more leverage as they navigated through the doorway?
And that was our AHA! moment.
After months of brainstorming and research, we sketched our first design and connected with Philadelphia’s Made Institute to develop our prototype. We chose the name samani—the Swahili word for furniture—to honor the original inspiration for our product. It took two more years to finalize a functional product, and in December 2019, we filed for a provisional patent to protect Samani’s unique design.
By 2022, Samani developed an additional product called the Samani Container, geared towards general moving and storage needs, with a second patent filed to protect our innovation. This involved thousands of hours of engineering expertise and product testing to ensure Samani Bags and Containers are the best, proven to consistently support up to 70 lb of weight internally, and support up to 500 lb of pressure, while empty. Samani is one tough bag!
Since then, we’ve been building relationships across industries, from automotive to consumer goods, continuing to look for and find new applications for our products, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of our customers—all of you.
